The Joan Durcan Scholarship Fund (JDSF) was established in 2014 to honor Joan Durcan, long time assistant of Kevin Cahill, M.D. A dear friend to CIHC and IIHA students, faculty, and countless other humanitarian aid professionals, Joan was a tireless advocate for those in positions of service and the people for whom they cared. Thus, the JDSF funds partial scholarships to aid professionals from the Global South who are pursuing the International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance (IDHA) through Fordham University.
To be eligible, you must be a citizen of a developing nation and currently working within the humanitarian field. Students who request funding on their online Fordham application will be automatically considered to receive support from the JDSF. Students cannot apply to the JDSF directly or independently of submitting an application for the IDHA. The JDSF will fund up to 50% of tuition cost.

If you are an Italian citizen currently working within the humanitarian field, you may be eligible for a scholarship from the Fondazione Marco Besso. This foundation typically grants several scholarships to the IDHA each year. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please email a CV and cover letter to the IIHA at firstname.lastname@example.org and specify that you are seeking a scholarship from the Fondazione Marco Besso. The Fondazione does not accept any direct scholarship requests.
