Fordham University’s will accept a maximum of 12 credits from the Center for International Humanitarian Cooperation.

Yes, you may take as many credits as you would like. However, Fordham University will not grant more than 12 credits for your participation in our courses.

Can I transfer credit to other universities/degree programs?

Yes, Fordham will transfer a maximum of 12 credits to other universities/degree programs.

How do I receive academic credit for a course I have taken?

In order to receive academic credit for a course, you must submit a research paper to the Center for International Humanitarian Cooperation following the guidelines provided to you during the course. Additionally, you must hold a Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent of a 4-year University degree.

Will any course transfer for credit?

Yes, any course can count toward the Master’s Program, as long as it does not exceed the 12 credit maximum.

Are there any prerequisites to apply to the Master’s Program?

Yes, in order to be accepted into the Master’s Program, you must have successfully completed the International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance (IDHA) course.

Do I need to be enrolled in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences to receive academic credit?

No, you may still receive academic credit without being enrolled in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

Can I receive credit for past CIHC courses if I choose to pursue the Master’s in the future?

Yes, you are allowed to receive academic credit for past CIHC courses upon submission of research paper and if you hold a Bachelor’s degree.

Can I take courses through the CIHC individually?

Yes, you may take any CIHC course individually without applying to the Master’s Program.
