The program is made up of four advanced modules. Courses are offered in one-, two- and four-week intensive sessions in various locations around the world. Two credits are attributed to each week, and participants must complete eight total credits in each of the program’s four topic modules.
An intensive four-week program, this module offers students a broad overview of humanitarian assistance through lectures, case studies and group exercises. Completion of this diploma is a requirement for admission to the master’s degree program.

Designed to deepen students’ understanding of humanitarian operations, this module explores the theoretical and practical implications of the evolving humanitarian institutional environment. Each of the module’s four courses includes lectures on research methods.

Focused on disaster and crisis management, this module examines a number of strategic initiatives to improve the analysis, mitigation, response and delivery of humanitarian assistance, while also exploring the historical bases of humanitarian action. A master’s thesis is required.
