The MHCE is taught in English only.
This is a multidisciplinary training program for participants from a variety of backgrounds. Applicants should have a background in either mental health or social work OR a relevant professional background that allows for future engagement in mental health or psychosocial program in complex emergencies OR previous experience in humanitarian settings, ideally in mental health or psychosocial program.
The total cost of the MHCE 7 course in Goa is 2700 USD, which includes tuition fees, course materials, accommodation, and weekday meals.
The MHCE 7 course in Goa in 2010 is a residential course.
This course is held once a year. In 2010, it will be held in Goa, India from December 4 to 17. Past courses have been taught in Geneva, New York, Uganda, and London. Please refer to our Calendar of Events for future dates and locations.
With the recent approval of the Masters in International Humanitarian Action (MIHA) at Fordham University, all CIHC courses offered in 2010 can be counted toward the Masters. Two academic credits can be received upon successful completion of this course.

Full tuition must be received 30 days before the program’s start date.

Deferment is acceptable until 30 days before the program’s start date. After that, you may not be able to acquire a refund. Please see our cancellation policy for further information.
Depending on your citizenship, you may need a visa. After we receive your payment, our staff will send you an invitation letter to the program, which can be used to apply for a visa. Although we may be able to provide assistance in obtaining you a visa, it is the participant’s responsibility to obtain his/her visa.
The CIHC offers a very limited number of scholarships to selected students. To be eligible, you must be a citizen of a developing nation and be currently working within the humanitarian field. Scholarships do not cover the cost of transportation.
