About the Course Director

Lynne Jones

Lynne Jones is a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist and a humanitarian worker with twelve years international experience in designing, founding, and managing primary and mental health care programs for adults and children in conflict and post-conflict situations, relief and development. She is a published academic with a Ph.D. in the social sciences. Dr. Jones is an experienced researcher with a particular focus on children's understanding and capacity to cope with political violence. Accustomed to teaching adults throughout her medical, academic, and humanitarian career, she has been responsible for course and curriculum design in a wide variety of educational settings. A skilled negotiator, team builder, and trainer in variety of international settings, Lynne has also successfully raised and administered large budgets. In 2001, Lynne Jones was awarded the OBE for services to child psychology and mental health in conflict-affected areas of Central Europe.
