In 2011, the IDHA was held in January in Geneva, June in New York, and will be held in November in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Future IDHAs will be held in Geneva, Switzerland from February 5 - March 2,2012 and in New York City from June 3 - June 29, 2012. The IDHA runs for four full weeks.
The fee for the course is 5200 USD. This cost includes the tuition payment, course materials, lodging, and all weekday meals. Transportation to and from the course location is not included.
The IDHA is only taught in English.
This is a multi-disciplinary training program for students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. All participants are required to have a university degree and to be at least 25 years old. Preference will be given to students with humanitarian field experience, emergency or development. All courses are conducted in English.

Yes, the CIHC offers a limited number of scholarships. To be considered for a scholarship, you must indicate so on your application, and specify the exact amount of funding that you are applying for.
All scholarships for IDHA 36 in Geneva, Switzerland have been awarded.
The CIHC offers a small number of partial scholarships (no more than fifty percent) to selected students. To be eligible, you must be a citizen of a developing nation and be currently working within the humanitarian field. Scholarships do not cover the cost of transportation. Scholarships cannot be deferred or transferred to other courses.
If you are an Italian citizen currently working within the humanitarian field, you may be eligible for a scholarship from the Fondazione Marco Besso. This foundation generally grants 6 to 7 scholarships a year. These scholarships are decided upon once a year. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, you must apply by September for the forthcoming year (i.e. scholarships for 2011 courses were decided upon at the end of 2010). To apply, please submit an application and please contact us to specify that you are seeking a scholarship from the Fondazione Marco Besso.

Yes, Fordham University grants 8 academic credits for successful completion of the IDHA.
This course is offered on a Pass/Fail basis only. No letter grades will be given.
Depending on your citizenship, you may need a visa. After we receive your deposit, our staff will send you an invitation letter to the program, which can be used to apply for a visa. Although we may be able to provide assistance in obtaining you a visa, it is the participant’s responsibility to obtain his/her visa.
