How do I apply?

To apply for the Humanitarian Logistics course, please submit an application.

When and where are future courses being held?

The first Humanitarian Logistics course will be held in the fall of 2010 in Rome, Italy. Please refer to our Calendar of Events.

What is the length of the program?

This course runs for approximately one week.

What is the total cost for this program?

There is an $1600 USD fee for this course, which includes tuition and coffee breaks. It does not include accommodation, meals, and transportation costs.

What is the academic level of this course?

The Humanitarian Logistics course is a graduate-level program held in cooperation by the CIHC and Fordham University.

Can I receive academic credit upon completion of this course?

Yes, Fordham University grants 2 graduate-level academic credits for successful completion of the Humanitarian Logistics course.

What language(s) is this course offered in?

The course is only offered in English.

Am I eligible to apply?

All participants are required to have a University degree and to be a minimum of 25 years old. Preference will be given to students with humanitarian field experience, emergency or development.

What is the final date to apply for the Humanitarian Logistics course?

Applications are taken on a rolling basis. Once the course has been filled, a waiting list will be implemented.

Can I defer my acceptance?

No, deferment is not permitted. A participant must reapply for the following Humanitarian Logistics course.

Are scholarships available?

Yes, the CIHC offers a limited number of scholarships. To be considered for a scholarship, you must indicate so in your application.

Am I eligible for a scholarship?

The CIHC offers a small number of partial scholarships (no more than fifty percent) to selected students. To be eligible, you must be a citizen of a developing nation and be currently working within the humanitarian field. Scholarships do not cover the cost of transportation. Scholarships cannot be deferred or transferred to other courses.

If accepted, do I need a visa?

Depending on your citizenship, you may need a visa. Upon acceptance to the program, our staff will send you an invitation letter to the program, which can be used to apply for a visa. Although we may be able to provide assistance in obtaining you a visa, it is the participant’s responsibility to obtain his/her visa.
