How do I apply?

What is the total cost for this program?

There is an $1800 fee for this course, which includes tuition, course materials, accommodation, and all weekday meals. Participants are responsible for the cost of transportation.

Where and when is this course taught?

The DMTC course in NY in 2010 has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict. We plan to reschedule the course for later in 2010 or early 2011. Please refer to our Calendar of Events for future dates and locations.

What language(s) is this course taught in?

The DMTC program is taught in English, occasionally with Spanish translation.

Who are the preferred candidates?

Senior managers of aid agencies, private organizations, and senior military (e.g., rank of Colonel) would be the ideal candidates.

Is academic credit granted for this course?

With the recent approval of the Masters in International Humanitarian Action (MIHA) at Fordham University, all CIHC courses offered in 2010 can be counted toward the Masters. Two academic credits can be received upon successful completion of this course.

How long is this course?

The course runs for approximately one week.

When is the final date to apply?

Applications are taken on a rolling basis.  Once the course has been filled, a waiting list will be implemented.

Is it possible to defer my acceptance to another DMTC course?

No, deferment is not permitted. A participant must reapply for the following DMTC course.

What is your cancellation policy?

If accepted, do I need a visa?

Depending on your citizenship, you may need a visa.  Upon acceptance to the program, our staff will send you an invitation letter to the program, which can be used to apply for a visa. Although we may be able to provide assistance in obtaining you a visa, it is the participant’s responsibility to obtain his/her visa.
