Disaster Management Training Course

The climate change is now a reality that can no longer be ignored. The challenges caused by the climate change are becoming evident each day and need to be addressed with trained and capable experts all over the world in order to minimize the damages and consequences.  Past natural disasters have made clear the need for improvement in this sector and how much must be done in order to achieve universal standards of preparedness, prevention, and management of disasters. This is evident especially in Central America, where the destruction due to weather, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and floods and tides are daily phenomena.

The Center for International Humanitarian Cooperation (CIHC), in partnership with Americares, offers one-week intensive training programs for senior level personnel of organizations that respond to resulting complex emergencies.  Using as its model the Center’s highly successful International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance (IDHA) program, these training programs would be held throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, building on the existent strengths and relationships of both the CIHC and Americares.
